About Laurie Anderson:
Laurie Halse Anderson was originally born Laurie Beth Halse in Potsdam, New York, on October 23rd, 1961. After finding her love for writing in second grade, Laurie moved on to write several novels and picture books, The Hair of Zoe Fleefenbacher Goes to School, illustrated by Art Hoyt, was released in 2009 and became a New York Times bestseller. On July 11, 2009, the Young Adults Library Services Associated presented Laurie with the 2009 Margaret A. Edwards Award for Catalyst, Fever 1793, and Speak.
